ApplicationofPH,DOandOURControlforAchievingStart-UpofShort-CutNitrationWenbingCHEN,MengTIAN,RanranWANG,FengLIUSchoolofMunicipalandEnvironmentalEngineering,ShandongJianzhuUniversity,Jinan,China,250101Email:cwb929@sdjzu.edu.cnAbstract:Asequencingbatchreactorwasemployedtotreatammoniawastewater,thepH,DOandOURwereadoptedtomonitorthestartofshort-cutnitricationunderhigherdissolvedoxygenconcentration.Theresultsshowedthatthestartofshort-cutnitricationwasachievedin31days,ammoniaconsumptionratewashigherthan90%andnitriteaccumulationratewashigherthan85%,whenpH,DOandOURwasappliedtomonitoranddeterminetheaerationtime,undertheconditionoftemperaturewas30,the℃averageconcen-trationofdissolvedoxygenwashigherthan1.2mg/L,sludgeretentiontimewas12dandammoniaconcen-trationwasgraduallyincreased.Theanalysisofreactionrateshowedthattheammoniaoxidationrateandni-triteproductionratewouldbeenhancedwiththeincreaseofammoniaconcentration,andthesludgesystemhadabetteradaptabilityandresilienceundershockloadingofammonia.Keyw
