StudyonAdvancedNitrogenRemovalinModified-A2NProcessLiuYing1,,PengYongzhen2,,WangShuying,,WangXimingBeijingKeyLaboratoryofWaterQualityScienceandWaterEnvironmentRecoveryEngineeringBeijingUniversityofTechnology,Beijing,100124China1Email:ly_bjut@yahoo.com.cn,2Email:pyz@bjut.edu.cnAbstract—Toimprovetheinherentdesignshortcomingsofthetraditionalanaerobic/anoxic/nitrification(A2N)process,amodifiedA2Nprocesswasproposed.ThemodifiedA2NprocesswasusedtotreatrealmunicipalwastewatertoevaluatethenutrogenremovalintraditionalandmodifiedprocessandtheeffectofaerationrateinhybridbiofilmreactoronthemodifiedA2Nprocesswasinvestigated.TheresultshowedthattheTNremovalefficiencywas81.9%intraditionalprocess.Thesatisfiednutrientremovalperformancewasachievedwhenthemodifiedprocesswasappliedwithbiggeraerationrate(0.1m3·h-1)inhybridbioflimreactor.Theammoniaremovalefficiencyincreasedtonearly100%andtheTNremovalefficiencyincreasedto91.3%.Thesimultaneousnitrificationanddenitrification(SND)ismaxmiumcontributiontothebetterT
