Desulfurization-performance-of-biotrickling-filter-on-the-removal-of-flue-gas-adsorbent-produced-byDesulfurizationperformanceofbiotricklingfilterontheremovaloffluegasadsorbentproducedbydual-alkalifluegasdesulfurizationprocessTianlongZheng,LiWang,JianhuaWang,NiantaoXueandQunhuiWangABSTRACTAbiotricklingfilter(BTF)wasusedtoinvestigatetheeliminationoffluegasadsorbentcontainingsulfite,sulfate,andhydrosulfate;itwasundertakentoreplacetheregenerationstepofdual-alkalifluegasdesulfurization.Sulfate-reducingbacteria(SRB)isolatedfromlandfillleachatewereinoculated,andoveralldesulfurizationperformanceaswellasimpactresistancewasevaluated.TheresultsshowedthatanefficientSRBcouldreducethestart-uptimeto1h,whichisonethirdofthatrequiredforinitialcondition,forasulfiteremovalefficiencyabove80%.Further,thesulfiteremovalefficiencyroseto98%in3.9hwiththelowerpackingloadof5.56kgSO32�-S/(m3d),andin6.4hfor6.37kgSO32�-S/(m3d).Incontrast,85%removalefficiencyin5hforsulfateand98%removalefficiencyin0.5hforhydrosulfitewe
